The history of writing dates back to around the start of the CY system, around year 0.

Documents

The oldest ever discovered writing is a calcite tablet named the Tablet of Little Nisania. The tablet is written in Villager Runes and was carved around year 0.

The tablet translates to: "As a farmer, I spend most of my day in the fields. I plant seeds, pull out weeds, and gather the crops when they are ready. When my inventory is full, I carry my harvest to the marketplace, where I trade with my fellow villagers. Emeralds are precious to us, for they allow us to exchange the things we need. A few emeralds might buy a new tool, a loaf of bread, or even a book filled with ancient knowledge."
